Introduction
Welcome to my space — I'm Youmna Farasha: a structural engineer by profession, a psychologically-informed mentor, a multilingual educator, and a lifelong learner.
Having lived, studied, and worked across completely diverse cultural landscapes—from my roots in Lebanon, to completing my Master’s in Scotland, to immersing myself in intensive language studies in Sakarya and building a life in Istanbul, Turkey—I have spent years navigating international environments. This journey has exposed me deeply to individuals from every imaginable background, teaching me firsthand how to break through communication barriers, connect with genuine empathy, and understand how different minds adapt to new challenges.
Truly mastering any new skill—whether navigating personal development, breaking through a language barrier, or coordinating complex business frameworks—requires more than just routine repetition. It requires an analytical mind, an understanding of how the human brain processes information, and genuine empathy. My mission is to build highly effective, structured pathways that empower people to understand complex concepts and communicate with authentic confidence.
Engineering, Structure, & Psychology Background
I hold a Master's degree with Merit in Structural Engineering from the University of Glasgow, where I was honored with the Chancellor's Award for outstanding academic performance. Prior to that, I graduated among the top 10 students of my class with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Beirut Arab University.
Alongside my technical background, my deep interest in human behavior led me to build a Psychology Academic Foundation (completing 43 university credits) at Beirut Arab University. This unique combination allows me to view personal and professional development through a completely distinct lens.
My years managing technical design layouts and engineering project coordination, paired with my studies in human psychology, have directly shaped my methodology. I don't just teach or guide; I look at large, overwhelming systems and break them down into clean, step-by-step frameworks.
This powerful blend gives me the unique ability to provide:
-
Psychologically-Informed Guidance: Navigating emotional learning blocks, limiting mindsets, and performance anxiety with deep patience, logic, and empathy.
-
Analytical Frameworks: Creating clear, highly logical structural maps for language fluency, personal growth, and problem-solving.
-
Clarity & Precision: Transforming dense, overwhelming materials or systems into beautifully simple, actionable steps.
📘 My Journey with Turkish & Regional Consulting
My relationship with Turkey began in 2007, when I first traveled to the country as a tourist. I quickly fell in love with its rich culture, fascinating history, and warm, welcoming people. Over the years, I visited many times, deepening my connection with the country. In 2014, I decided to take my passion for Turkey to the next level and began learning Turkish in Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center in Beirut.
To further immerse myself in the language and culture, I joined the Turkish Summer School in 2015 at Sakarya City, hosted by the Yunus Emre Institute in collaboration with TÖMER, a well-known language school. During that summer, I enhanced my language skills while gaining a deeper understanding of Turkish culture. What began as a simple curiosity soon blossomed into a profound passion for the language.
By 2019, I was ready to share my knowledge with others and began teaching Turkish in classrooms. In 2020, I moved to Istanbul, Turkey, where I transitioned to online teaching, allowing me to reach a broader audience and help students worldwide learn Turkish.
During my time in Istanbul, I also founded a consulting company that specializes in assisting foreigners with practical needs, such as residence permits, insurance, transportation, and more, making their life in Turkey easier. I lived in Turkey until October 2023, fully immersing myself in its vibrant culture, and forging lasting relationships with native Turkish speakers.
Today, I use that firsthand regional expertise to offer more than just language lessons. I help you understand the cultural aspects that make a language come to life, and I guide individuals in integrating smoothly into life in Turkey—whether visiting, working, or planning to settle there. Additionally, I leverage this background to provide professional B2B Translation and Supplier Support, bridging the gap for international buyers communicating with Turkish manufacturers to ensure flawless, secure transactions.
Qualifications & Core Approach
I am certified in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language from Istanbul University,
one of Turkey’s most reputable institutions.

“I believe that learning a language is not only about grammar; it’s about connection, culture, and discovering a new way of seeing the world.”
Alongside this background, I bring a highly specialized set of skills and a core philosophy to my educational programs and mentoring:
-
🌍 Strong Multilingual Capabilities: Native fluency in Arabic and English, mastery of Turkish, and deep exposure to varied linguistic structures, with extensive experience teaching learners from various backgrounds and professional levels.
-
🧠 Native Understanding of Learning Styles: A built-in, intuitive understanding of exactly how Arabic speakers think, process information, and translate grammar patterns in their minds.
-
📊 Logical Architecture: Methods that simplify grammar and break down complex concepts or workflows into clear, progressive steps so students always say: “Why didn't anyone explain it like this before?”
-
✔️ Safe & Motivating Environment: Mistakes are welcome—they show growth. Every system is built around deep patience, personalized pacing, and a relaxed space to step past fear into authentic action and confidence.
Scribbles, Writing & Nature Photography
Beyond teaching, engineering, and business consulting, I express my creative side through writing. Under #YFscribbles, I share short reflections, thoughts, and personal perspectives on life, society, and human nature—pieces of life captured in words.
I also enjoy nature photography: trees, skies, mountains, and quiet moments that inspire calm. These creative expressions are an important part of my identity—and many of my students and clients find a deep connection to the values shared through them.
This website brings all my worlds together: education, creativity, culture, engineering, and personal storytelling.
